Alfa Romeo Tonale Wins 2024 Green SUV of the Year™

In a significant recognition of environmental consciousness and automotive excellence, the Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-in Hybrid Q4 has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Green SUV of the Year™ award by the Green Car Journal. This title, bestowed by an authoritative American magazine specializing in the intersection of cars, energy, and the environment since 1992, positions the Tonale at the forefront of green automotive innovation.

The Tonale, Alfa Romeo’s inaugural C-SUV, boasts Plug-In Hybrid technology and standard Q4 all-wheel-drive, ensuring optimal traction and safety. Judges from the Green Car Journal were captivated by the Tonale’s infusion of Italian style, dynamic driving experience, functional design, and technologically advanced interior.

Ron Cogan, the editor and publisher of Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com, remarked, “Alfa Romeo’s Tonale offers an exciting and sporty way of driving an electric vehicle. The Tonale stands out as the most efficient Plug-In Hybrid Q4 C-SUV in its segment. The advanced powertrain incorporates a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, providing traction to the front wheels. Its exceptional efficiency and performance in electric mode are attributed to a 15.5-kWh lithium-ion battery, propelling an electric motor with a peak power output of 90 kW and torque of 250 Nm, resulting in a class-leading total output of 280 horsepower.
