In a nostalgic nod to the days of CRT screens and button-mashing, A Boy and his Blob™: Retro Collection is set to grace the gaming world on October 17, 2023. Developed by Ziggurat Interactive and Limited Run Games, this collection pays homage to the timeless classics of retro gaming, heading to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

A Boy and his Blob™: Retro Collection revisits two cherished NES and Game Boy titles, offering both the American and Japanese versions. In “A Boy and his Blob: Trouble in Blobolonia,” players assume the role of a young hero embarking on a quest to save the enchanting realm of Blobolonia from the clutches of the malevolent Emperor. Together with their shape-shifting companion, Blob, players must utilize 14 mystical jelly beans to navigate through intricate puzzles and challenging platforming adventures.

The adventure continues in “The Rescue of Princess Blobette,” a thrilling sequel where players must thwart the sinister Alchemist’s plot to take over Blobolonia’s Royal Castle and rescue the imprisoned princess. It’s up to the Boy and Blob once again to stand against evil and bring justice to their world.

A Boy and his Blob™: Retro Collection seamlessly blends retro charm with contemporary enhancements, courtesy of Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine™. Players can anticipate the addition of Trophies for PS4/PS5, customizable aesthetic filters, and the invaluable feature of save states, offering respite from starting over after a game over.

Mark your calendars for October 17th, when A Boy and his Blob™: Retro Collection becomes available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Keep an eye out for the forthcoming announcement of a PC version.
