The Hyundai IONIQ 6 Limited Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) model has emerged as the undisputed leader, according to the latest test conducted by Edmunds. The test, designed to evaluate the efficiency of EV charging, placed the IONIQ 6 at the pinnacle among 43 popular electric vehicles.

Developed in collaboration with P3 Group, a prominent automotive consulting firm and EV charging expert, the Edmunds EV Charging Test utilized real-world scenarios and empirical data to gauge the swiftness with which EVs can replenish their battery packs using a Level 3 DC fast charger.

During the test, the IONIQ 6 Limited RWD model showcased its prowess by adding 100 miles in an average time of 6 minutes and 54 seconds, equivalent to an impressive 868 miles per charging hour. Notably, no other EV tested, including models from renowned brands like Tesla, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz, managed to break the 7-minute barrier.

The IONIQ 6 Limited RWD model, equipped with a 77.4-kWh battery pack, outperformed its closest competitor by an astonishing 99 miles per charging hour. Even the IONIQ 6 All Wheel Drive (AWD) model secured a commendable third-place finish, boasting 764 miles per charging hour and adding 100 miles in an average time of 7 minutes and 51 seconds.

As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, the IONIQ 6’s groundbreaking performance in the Edmunds EV Charging Test sets a new standard for EV enthusiasts.
