Cinematographer Alex Disenhof ASC employed hundreds of ARRI SkyPanel S60 and S360 LED fixtures behind muslin screens, enveloping the village set with a fine-tuned red color palette. This setup allowed for precise control over lighting and generated soft backlighting in all directions. The combination of practical effects, on-set smoke and post-production VFX added further depth and richness to the composition.
The cloud-based workflow implemented for “The Rings of Power” made ingenious use of metadata provided by ARRI’s ALEXA Mini LF and ALEXA LF cameras, along with DNA LF and Signature Prime lenses. This data integration facilitated a seamless collaboration between various departments, enhancing the visual effects pipeline and enabling the post-production teams to deliver stunning results.
